Class tonight began with an indepth look at Hicho No Kamae of Kihon Happo. Elements such as the kamae itself, ma-ai, kotsu, uke nagashi and chosui dori were examined, as was the ‘ura’ of the technique - uke’s kamae and generation of power with zenpo tsuki from Ichimonji.

Class tonight began with ukemi taihenjutsu, looking at katate zenpo kaiten, mute zenpo kaiten, gyaku nagare, and hicho kaiten at a variety of heights. We then moved onto yoko ukemi, gradually moving from getting the form on the ground, from kaiten and then descending from a handstand.
